About us

“IS THAT CORRUGATED CARDBOARD OR CAN IT BE THROWN AWAY?”

Of course, even today, it is possible to avoid packaging products in cardboard. But why would you want to? No other packaging offers so much protection for such a low investment and meets such high environmental standards—if you ask us. That’s why, since day one, everything we do has revolved around this recyclable material.

And they can be used to build such an incredible variety of packaging that it still amazes us a little bit every day. At the end of the day, however, the only thing that matters is that our “smart boxes” are exactly what our customers want—developed and produced for their production processes and their products.

We are a fairly easy-to-love family business with the capabilities of a large company and the swift decision-making processes of a small one.

A little proud of everything.

Even the first Packners plant in Schüttorf—where corrugated packaging production began in 2010—was considered one of the most modern in Europe by many. And with our move to the brand-new facility in neighboring Emsbüren, we’ll likely hold that reputation for a few more years.

Speaking of “IT nerds“: this is also thanks to our sophisticated IT system, which has been specially adapted for us and ensures that everything that can be automated is automated. As you can imagine, vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and electronic data interchange (EDI) are standard practice for us.

We are true border crossers.

Thanks to our location on the German-Dutch border, we supply customers in both Germany and the Netherlands—either from our factory in Emsbüren (Emsland) or from Coevorden (province of Drenthe, Netherlands), depending on the order size or box specifications.

We complement each other perfectly: Emsbüren has the capacity for large quantities, while our sister plant in Coevorden—also known as Bannink Packaging and established on the Dutch market for decades—produces medium and small volumes of cardboard boxes and packaging. And when it comes to soccer, we are quite pragmatic, opting for either “the Netherlands” or “Germany.” But in any case, we are “team corrugated cardboard.”

Supply reliability!

Another ace up our sleeve is the European network of the SAICA Group, which we joined a few years ago: this provides dozens of backup production capacities in case of emergencies (you can never be too careful) and at the same time gives our customers the option of being supplied throughout Europe.

It is pronounced [Päck:nass].

Since 2010, many people have tried, often in vain, to pronounce our name correctly – we would like to offer some valuable assistance here. To get straight to the point – it is not pronounced [Packnaahs]. Packners is a made-up word that is meant to convey what we want to be for our customers: packaging partners. And that solves the question of pronunciation. The solution is: [Päck:nass].

HISTORY UNFOLDS HERE

That’s the truth.

We set out to make our customers happy. Because happy customers also mean a happy Packners. But how do you achieve this highest level of satisfaction? For us, it’s clear: we always want to be a little better than the others. That means good prices, the best quality, triple reliability, and the friendliest and most motivated employees you can find. But it also means working on your efficiency every day.

We rely on innovation, investment, and our commitment when it comes to remaining future-proof and competitive.

Is that enough?
